*NEW* 2024 Volunteer Requirements for Little League and BCB

Please read this as it applies to all BCB volunteers and includes instructions to complete the free but REQUIRED certifications needed to be involved with BCB in ANY capacity this year.

BCB NEW VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS

As part of Boardman Community Baseball's adherence to Little League’s updated Child Protection Program, and to remain chartered and affiliated with Little League Baseball and Softball all volunteers need to complete the free Abuse Awareness training.
This will be tracked by BCB and needs to be completed by all volunteers BEFORE the season begins on April 22, 2024.

Download the BCB Certification List/Instructions for
Volunteers from the link above or select this link.

Commencing with the 2024 season, all individuals who complete a volunteer application for BCB must annually complete Abuse Awareness Training. This includes anyone who wishes to be a manager, coach, member of the Board of Directors, volunteer, umpire and any other person who provides regular services to the league and/or has repetitive access to or contact with players or teams.

PURPOSE

The safety and well-being of all participants in the Little League® program is paramount. Little League promotes a player- centric program where young people grow up happy, healthy, and, above all, safe. Little League strives to create an environment that is as safe as possible both on and off the field. Little League does not tolerate any type of abuse against a minor, including, but not limited to, sexual, physical, mental, and emotional (as well as any type of bullying, hazing, or harassment).
Little League’s goal is to prevent child abuse from occurring through required screenings, training and education, awareness, and mandated reporting of abuse.

Once you have completed your course, email the pdf certificate to the BCB Safety Officer at: [email protected].

BCB will be sending copies of the 2024 Little League Child Protection Program, the certification instruction list, and the BCB ASAP Safety Plan to all volunteers in a future email. Please keep an eye out for these important documents.

Thank You,
BCB Board of Directors

*No need to fill out a paper form anymore!

1. Have your team manager add your Name, Email and Phone Number to the teams Security Compliance Form.
- If they have already submitted it to BCB just have them contact the security officer and add your information to the form.

2. New Volunteers will receive a link via email with directions to complete an online volunteer application form and background check.

3. Returning Volunteers, their name will be resent through the JDP system and will be notified if there are any issues. Otherwise you won't need to do anything.
