BOARDMAN COMMUNITY BASEBALL 2010 REGISTRATION

We are pleased to announce baseball and softball registration for Boardman Community Baseball for the 2010 season.  As we look forward with great anticipation to Opening Day 2010 at the Fields of Dreams at 410 McClurg Rd., we continue our goal of providing the youth of Boardman with the best possible baseball or softball experience. The baseball age is the age of your child as of April 30, 2010 for boys and December 31, 2009 for girls.  Your child must be 5 years old by APRIL 30, 2009 FOR BOYS and DECEMBER 31, 2008 FOR GIRLS to participate. All players must reside in the Boardman Local School District.  Please review the 2010 Boys and Girls Realignment Notice regarding your child’s division.  Listed below are the programs we offer:

BOYS PROGRAMS - AGES 5 TO 18

 

5 and 6 year old boys play Mushball:

Basic skills taught, coach pitch, batting tee used if needed.Emphasis on learning and having fun.
7 and 8 year old boys play Rookie League: Basic skills taught, coaches pitch, emphasis on learning and teamwork. Reduced Injury Factor (RIF) ball used.
Some 8, 9 and 10 year old boys play Minor League: Player pitch.
Some 10, 11 and 12 year old boys play Major League: Players are assigned according to draft.
13 and 14 year old boys play Tri-T Pony League: Home games are played at the Fields of Dreams with away games played at surrounding communities.
15 through 18 year old boys play Tri-T Colt League: Home games are played at the Fields of Dreams with away games played at surrounding communities.
THERE IS NO LONGER A LIMITED NUMBER OF 18 YEAR OLDS PER TEAM.  EACH 18 YEAR OLD MUST BE A 2010 HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE, NO COLLEGE 18 YEAR OLDS ALLOWED. TEAMS MAY HAVE UP TO 3 19 YEAR OLD HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES ON THEIR ROSTERS FOR 2010.

GIRLS PROGRAMS - AGES 5 TO 18

REGISTRATION INFORMATION
You may register in three ways:
1. BY INTERNET, MUST BE SENT BY FEBRUARY 21, 2010.

2. AT THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS:
SUNDAY, JANUARY 31, 2010 1-4 PM-FIELDS OF DREAMS, 410 McCLURG ROAD.

3. BY MAIL, MUST BE POSTMARKED BY FEBRUARY 21, 2010.

The cost of registration and insurance fees for your child is as follows:
Boys ages 5 and 6, girls ages 5, 6 and 7:         $65.00 per player
Boys ages 7-12, girls ages 8-12:                      $85.00 per player
Boys and girls ages 13-18:                              $95.00 per player

A $5.00 discount will be offered for each child over one in the same family.

Registration Instructions
All first year registrants to BCB must provide, with their registration, a copy of their birth certificate, which will be kept on file by the league.

OUR GOAL THIS YEAR IS TO REGISTER AS MANY PLAYERS AS POSSIBLE ON-LINE. HARD COPY REGISTRATION FORMS WILL BE AVAILABLE AT OUR ON-SITE REGISTRATIONS AND MAILED TO THOSE THAT WERE REGISTERED LAST SEASON. PLEASE MAKE THE EFFORT TO REGISTER ON-LINE. HARD COPY PACKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE IN THE BLACK MAIL BOX, ATTACHED TO THE FRONT GATE STARTING JANUARY 19, 2009. WE HAVE UPDATED OUR ON-LINE REGISTRATION SO IT SHOULD BE EASIER AND MORE CONVENIENT. CALL THE LEAGUE OFFICE AT 330-758-2123 IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING REGISTRATION. 

Registration fees will not be refunded.  The only exception to the no refund policy is for a player who suffers an injury prior to the start of the regular season that prohibits participation during the current season.

Challenger Program
We offer a Challenger Baseball Program for physically and mentally challenged boys and girls ages 6-18 (or 22 if still in school) who reside in the Tri-County area.  Games are played at the Field of Dreams with the season running from early June until mid July.  For more information, contact Jim Colaluca (330-757-4743). Boys and Girls Division Tryouts
Please see enclosed 2010 Boys and Girls Division Realignment Information. Tryouts will occur on Saturday March 7, 2010 at Sluggers from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. Make up tryouts for those who could not attend the Saturday tryouts and Pony Division tryouts will occur on Friday March 12, 2010 at Sluggers at 6:00 pm. Those that should tryout are; 8 year old boys who choose to be considered for a Minor Division team, 8 year old girls, all 9 year old and 10 year old boys and girls for Minor and Major Teams. Those 12 year olds that were on a Major Team during the 2009 season do not have to tryout for the 2010 season. Those 12 year olds will be assigned to the same team as the 2009 season. •Manager and Coach training will be a focus again for the 2010 season. MANAGER AND COACH APPLICATION DEADLINE IS JANUARY 31, 2010.
