(Note: any 8 year old player may try out, at player/parent option, for Minor Division. All qualified 8 year olds, as determined by BCB evaluation, will be eligible to be selected to a Minor team. Please note, not all players that try out may be assigned to a minor team). Game time limits will be used.

Minor

8–9–10

For 2010, qualified 8 year olds, returning 9 year old players and returning 10 year old players will attend a “tryout” where they will be evaluated by BCB in order to determine the individual’s skill level. At the formation of the Minor League teams, the Minor League manager will select players from various pools based on age and skill level. This will be done in an effort to balance the competitive level of this division. This tryout and evaluation process will happen each year for players entering this division. The players in the Minor division will be selected to a new team each season.

(Note: 10 year old players may be drafted to the Major Division. The number of ten years olds to be drafted will be determined by the number of teams in the Major Division and the number of 10 year old players who appear to be qualified to play up. This number will be based on the evaluation by BCB officials, managers and player agents.

The 10 year old players in Majors will be eligible for the 10 year old tournament team. Minimum play time will be determined by the VP of Boys Baseball and the Player Agent based on the numbers of players and teams in the division. An 11 year old player who has not played organized baseball in 2008 or 2009 will be playing in the minor division in 2010 unless the player, after tryouts, is drafted to the major division.

Major

10–11–12

For 2010, BCB will be playing the major division with one division. There will be no East or West divisions.

For 2010, 10 year old players may be drafted into the Major Division based on a tryout. Each Major Division team will not have more than 2 ten year old players. The total number of 10 year old players to be drafted in majors will be determined based on ability and the total number of players spots available in the Major division.

All first-year 11 and 12 year old players will be required to attend tryouts. An 11 year old player who has not played organized baseball in 2008 or 2009 will be playing in the minor division in 2010 unless the player, after tryouts, is drafted to the major division.

All other 11 year old players are eligible to be in the Major Division, but if the parent or guardian of an 11 year old feels it would be more beneficial to the player to play in the Minor division, BCB will work to accommodate that request.

All returning Major Division players, from the prior season, return to their same team unless; a decision is made to redraft the entire major league. This process will be determined by BCB officials.

All 12 year old players will participate in the Major Division.

Minimum play time will be determined by the VP of Boys Baseball and the Player Agent based on the numbers of players and teams in the division.
